Artists StatementWhen I was young, I marveled at what I imagined to be alien forms and landscapes captured in my father's medical textbooks. The black-and-white illustrations were full of medical jargon and occasionally marked with highlighter. Their complexity had an alluring quality that never left me as I continued to further my education. College opened intellectual and artistic doors for me as my curiosity for new visual experiences continued to grow. I studied philosophy, saw a cadaver for the first time, and learned how to design with computer software.
